Postcard from New York

New York, a city that never sleeps and the temporary home of the latest Db pop-up store takeover. This time, we were there with Saturdays NYC - and if you haven’t heard of them, then you should definitely check out their website and visit them next time you are in the city.

Arriving in New York felt more like arriving on a tropical island. It was around 31 degrees celsius, which in the concrete jungle feels like 37. We didn’t mind though- the sun was out, coffees were served and we were on our way to meet the Saturdays crew. Even though we have done a few events this year, you never know what to expect or how they’ll turn out. But from the moment we met the Saturdays team, we knew that it was going to be a good one. Motivation was high and we were ready to roll our sleeves up and give the shop a Db look.

I’m not entirely sure how, but the store setup went smoother than ever and we made the takeover in less than three hours - meaning we had some time left to explore New York. My favorite part was Brooklyn - there’s so much street art, and too many coffee shops and great restaurants to choose from. We rented city bikes - something I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting as it’s definitely the best way to travel there. Obviously you can’t hit up the Big Apple without going shopping. My must visits if you’re looking to take the plastic for a walk are Aime Leon Dore, Rapha, and Saturdays.
