What does the Db warranty cover?
All customers have statutory consumer rights under the laws applicable in their country. In the EU, this includes a minimum two-year legal guarantee, which may be longer under local law. These rights apply regardless of Db Black membership.
Db Black extended warranty
Active Db Black members receive an extended commercial warranty on eligible products purchased from Db or an authorised Db reseller after 1 June 2021:
- 7 years for soft-sided products, including backpacks, duffels and other products that are not hard-shell.
- 10 years for hard-shell products, including aluminium luggage and other hard-shell cases.
The warranty period begins on the original purchase date. The product must still be owned by the original purchaser or the original recipient if it was purchased as a gift. Proof of purchase and Db Black membership at the time of purchase may be required.
What is covered?
The warranty covers manufacturing defects that occur during normal use and affect the product’s function. This may include defective zips or seams, tears affecting functionality, cracked or broken shells, and broken structural components such as buckles or hooks.
If a claim is approved, Db may repair the product, provide a replacement part, or replace the product with an equivalent new or refurbished product. Reasonable costs related to an approved claim, including applicable transport costs, will be covered by Db.
Covered defects may include, but are not limited to:
- Cracks or breaks in the product’s shell
- Defective zips or seams
- Tears in the fabric that affect the product’s functionality
- Broken or non-functional hooks, buckles, or structural trims
The warranty also covers damage caused during transportation from our factory or warehouse to the original point of sale or customer. Damage caused by airline handling while a product is checked in for travel is not covered by the warranty.
What does the warranty not cover?
- Wear and tear resulting from abnormally harsh use or use that is not compatible with the Product's intended use.
- Cosmetic damages
- Replacement of any non-defective pieces of the Product
- Any product sold "as is", "preconditioned", “used" or similar wording indicating that the Product is not new
- Damages caused by transport and transit damage while checked-in
- Damages caused to personal goods due to water ingress
Warranty claims must be submitted in a reasonable time after damage occurs.
