How to Carry a Skateboard: In a Board Bag or on Backpack Straps.

here are two ways to carry a board. Inside a bag or on the outside of one.

A board bag like the Skate Carrier 32L holds the whole board in its own compartment. Grip tape stays off your clothes and the wheels stay off your back. It suits bike rides, trains and rainy days.

A backpack with board straps carries the board on the front. The Daypack 20L has adjustable straps on a reinforced panel, with your laptop and keys inside. It suits school and work days, when the board is one item among many.

Skateboard Bag Features: Board Straps, Laptop Sleeves and Pockets.

Board Straps That Stand Up to Grip Tape.

Grip tape is sandpaper. It eats through normal fabric. The Daypack 20L has a reinforced front panel built to take it, with fully adjustable straps that lock the board in place. Inside, our Rib-Cage Construction™ adds structure, so the pack holds its shape with a board on the front.

Cross-Body Carry for Bikes and Trains.

You wear the Skate Carrier across your body. An under-arm stability strap keeps it steady while you ride, and an internal strap holds the board in place. The fabric is weather resistant, so a wet ride to the spot doesn't mean a soggy deck.

Laptop Sleeves for School and Work.

Both Daypacks have an internal sleeve that fits up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The laptop gets its own slot, away from trucks, bearings and skate wax.

Pockets for Skate Tools and Keys.

The Daypack 15L has an interior zip pocket for keys, a skate tool, a wallet and a charger. The 20L has a lined mesh pocket that keeps small things visible, plus an adjustable water bottle pocket outside. The Skate Carrier has an easy-access top pocket.

Skateboard Bags for Skate Trips.

Some days the spot is a flight away. The Skate Duffel 65L carries a board and two spare decks next to your clothes. The packable Skate Carrier rides in your luggage until you land. For flights, checked luggage and road trips, browse our skateboard travel bags.

Everyday Skate Setups: School, Bike Commute and Park Session.

The school or work day. Daypack 20L with the laptop in its sleeve. Skate there, then strap the board on at the door.

The bike commute. Board in the Skate Carrier, worn cross-body with the stability strap clipped. Both hands stay on the bars.

The park session. Daypack 15L with the skate tool, keys and charger in the zip pocket and water in the main compartment. The board stays under your feet, where it belongs.

Your Questions Answered.

What Is the Best Way to Carry a Skateboard?

For short distances, most skaters carry the board by hand or ride it. For longer days, a backpack with front board straps keeps both hands free and holds a laptop too. A board bag with a cross-body strap suits bikes, trains and rain, because the whole board sits inside.

What Should You Keep in a Skateboard Bag?

A skate tool, spare hardware, water, keys and a phone cover most sessions. Many skaters add a spare tee and a piece of skate wax. On school and work days a laptop and charger come along, so a bag with a laptop sleeve is worth having.

Can a Skateboard Bag Hold a Laptop?

Some can. The Db Daypack 15L and Daypack 20L both have an internal sleeve that fits up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Board bags such as the Db Skate Carrier 32L are built around the deck and do not have a laptop sleeve.

Is the Db Skate Carrier Good for Riding a Bike?

Yes. The Db Skate Carrier 32L was designed for skaters who get to the spot by bike or public transit. It is worn cross-body with an under-arm stability strap, so the board stays steady and both hands stay free.

Is the Db Skate Carrier Waterproof?

The Db Skate Carrier 32L is weather resistant rather than waterproof. It is made to keep a board and essentials dry on rainy rides, but it is not built for standing water. A board that does get wet should dry fully before it is ridden again.

What Is the Difference Between a Skateboard Bag and a Skate Bag?

A skateboard bag carries a skateboard, either inside a board compartment or on backpack straps. A skate bag usually means a bag for roller skates or inline skates, shaped around boots instead of a deck. The two names often get mixed up, so check what a bag is built to carry before buying.
