Who is Mia Brookes? 
Mia Brookes is a British professional snowboarder and the youngest world champion in snowboard history. Born in Sandbach, Cheshire, she began snowboarding at just 18 months old at Kidsgrove Ski Centre in Stoke-on-Trent. Raised between the UK and the Alps — with her family spending five seasons in Chamonix — Mia developed her slopestyle skills travelling across Europe in a motorhome, building resilience and creativity from an early age. 

Today, she is widely recognised as one of the most progressive female snowboarders in the world and a leading medal contender for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.

Major Career Highlights 

FIS Snowboard World Champion (Slopestyle)

At just 16 years old, Mia won gold at the FIS Snowboard World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, becoming: 

  • The youngest world champion in snowboard history 
  • Britain’s first-ever world champion in slopestyle.

This landmark victory established her as one of the most exciting young talents in international snowboarding. 

X Games GoldMedalist

In 2023, Mia received an invite to compete at X Games Aspen — one of the most prestigious events in action sports. She: 

  • Won X Games gold 
  • Became the first female snowboarder to land a 1440 in competition 
  • Landed one of the earliest cab 1260s under competition pressure 

She has since added further X Games medals and World Cup podium finishes, reinforcing her status as a dominant force in women’s slopestyle.
