Your Questions Answered.

Which is better: Aluminum or polycarbonate luggage?

Your choice depends on your travel rhythm. Aluminum luggage is a zip-free, high-security solution offering a crush-proof frame for those who demand maximum protection while travelling. Polycarbonate is engineered with a lightweight, flexible shell that can expand to fit more, making it ideal for the spontaneous traveler who prioritizes flexibility.

Is aluminum luggage worth it?

Absolutely. Aluminum luggage is a definitive investment for travelers who prioritize uncompromising protection and gear that lasts a lifetime. Over time, the aluminum frame will develop a unique patina, a visual record of every journey.

What is aluminum luggage?

Aluminum luggage is built with a rigid aluminum frame and shell, offering exceptional durability, structure, and a premium feel. Unlike soft or polycarbonate suitcases, aluminum cases are designed to protect your belongings with solid, high-end construction.

Why choose aluminum over other materials?

Aluminum luggage is known for its strength and durability, premium design, and long lifespan. It provides excellent protection for your belongings and is ideal for frequent travelers who value both performance and aesthetics. Unlike plastic shells, it will typically deform under impact rather than crack, making it fully usable and functional even with a few dents.

Will my aluminum suitcase scratch?

Aluminum is a premium material chosen not only for its strength, but for how it evolves. As you travel, your suitcase will naturally pick up scratches, marks, and small dents, especially during transit. This is completely normal and not a defect.

Unlike plastic or coated materials that try to hide wear, aluminum wears it openly. Each mark becomes part of a unique patina, a surface that reflects your journeys and experiences. Over time, no two cases will look the same.

In fact, the more your suitcase travels, the more character it gains. Those scratches and dents become a quiet record of where you’ve been, a sign of a well-used, well-traveled companion.

If you prefer a pristine look, aluminum may not be the right choice. But if you appreciate materials that age with you and tell a story, it’s exactly the best option for you.

How should I care for my aluminum luggage?

Aluminum does not rust. The Ramverk™ Alu uses anodized aluminum that forms a durable protective layer, helping resist corrosion in travel conditions. Over time, cosmetic wear may appear with regular use. To keep your suitcase in the best condition, avoid dragging it on rough surfaces, wiping it with a soft cloth, and store it in a dry place. Signs of wear are expected and do not affect functionality.

Is aluminum luggage less durable because it scratches?

Not at all. Surface scratches are cosmetic only and do not impact the strength, structure, or performance of the suitcase. Aluminum remains one of the most robust materials available.

Does the warranty cover scratches or cosmetic wear?

No. Scratches, dents, and other cosmetic changes caused by normal use or handling during travel are not covered under warranty, as they are expected characteristics of aluminum luggage. Please see the terms & condition here.

What does the warranty cover?

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and functional issues that affect performance. DB Black members receive a 10-year warranty, while non-members receive a 2-year warranty. There is no difference in warranty coverage between aluminum luggage and other products purchased through our official channels.
Please see the terms & conditions here.

Should I expect differences compared to other Db luggage?

Yes. Aluminum luggage is more rigid and structured, will show visible wear over time, and emphasize durability over maintaining a pristine appearance.

Is aluminum luggage right for me?

If you value long-term durability, premium materials, and a suitcase that develops character over time, aluminum luggage is a great choice. If you prefer a suitcase that stays visually new, other materials may be more suitable.
