Born and raised in Chamonix, France, to two mountain-loving parents, Sam’s upbringing ushered him into slopestyle competitions at an early age. With a nearly endless bag of tricks, he took to the backcountry and competing in X-Games Real Ski events. But it wasn’t until he spent some serious time in Alaska and British Colombia that he found his true passion for big-mountain skiing. He brought those skills back to Chamonix, where he used his experience to raise the bar of extreme skiing at home, bringing a freeride approach to some of the steepest and most exposed faces worldwide. Since then he’s opened new lines as far away as Pakistan, and created his own ski movie production company called Invade Media. Now, he’s training to be a mountain guide, just like his father, and is widely recognized as one of the most versatile skiers in the world.
