Creative Exchange

We love a Creative Exchange — it’s the highlight of our month. But what is a Creative Exchange?

Well, it’s our monthly moment to learn and share what we’ve learned about the creative industry. We feel that sharing the knowledge of creators who lead from the front is really important, because when we hold these events, we see how many people show up, the level of discussion, and the hunger for more.

We feel that it speaks to the next generation of creative talent out there, and these are the people that we as a brand always need to keep front and centre of our efforts.
Each month we’ll hold one either online or in person. Online sessions are usually on YouTube Live, since we realised that Google Hangouts has a maximum capacity — and we once ended up with a bunch of people stuck in the waiting room. We should have known, I guess, but we live and learn.

The subjects are usually things like how to get paid as a freelance creative, best ways to apply for a job in the industry(which always includes Tin’s wonderful story of photoshopping himself into company pictures to prove he would fit in), all the way to very specific sessions on Formula 1 photography, or even more niche topics like using the latest GoPro.

In terms of guests, it’s usually people we’ve met along the way — from our own ambassadors including Chris Burkard, Sage Kotsenburg, or Gimbalgod, to our own team, with Hallvard explaining how to tackle the Transcontinental Race by bike. We’ve also had friends of the brand, including Hayden Kortmoore speaking about starting her own online Pilates class The Peach Club, and our record-breaking session with Jordan Rogers, sports & brand marketing guru, talking us through his experiences in the industry from working with the NFL to Nike and more.
In person, we’ve held them in London, Oslo, Manchester, Stockholm, Bergen, Vienna, Ericeira, Hossegor and New York — and we can’t wait to get some more stamps on the passport.
