Where it comes from
Roughly three quarters is what our products are made of — fabrics, foams, zips, buckles, luggage shells. Freight is next. Then business travel. Our own offices and vehicles together are under 0.5%.
Our targets, 2025 to 2030
Our own emissions (scope 1 & 2) — down 50%, with 100% renewable electricity in our offices and stores and an all-electric vehicle fleet.
Our supply chain (scope 3) — the footprint of each product we make down 7% every year, which compounds to around 30% by 2030. That target is set in alignment with STICA, the Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action.
What we commit to
We support the global ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C and commit to doing our share. What we'll do, who owns each part and what it costs is set out in our climate action plan.
What isn't working
Renewable electricity across our supply chain was 5.7% in 2025, against a target of 50%. It's our biggest gap by a distance, and closing it depends on suppliers whose electricity contracts we don't sign.
And notice what our supply chain target measures: the footprint per product. We plan to grow. If we sell enough more bags, our total footprint can rise even as every individual bag gets better. Improving each product is the part we can engineer. Making fewer of them is the harder conversation, and it's one we're having.
What we don't claim
Our targets aren't validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, so we don't call them 1.5°C-compatible. We're working to get Db to net zero as soon as we can, but we haven't set a year, because we can't yet show a credible route there — and a date that depends on technology breakthroughs that haven't happened is a claim we couldn't support. We buy renewable energy credits in Vietnam every year because we think it's a good use of the money, not to cancel out our footprint. Buying a Db bag does not reduce our emissions.
